I defer to the professionals in the field on this type of point, unclewest being one of those we are fortunate to have on this thread. His point is for minimising casualties too.

Interesting to speak to veterans who survive bad war situations. They go out their way to help humanity and life in general.

One of them showed me how always to cut up the plastic loops surround on 6 packs. Point he made was when these things get dumped at the land fill, birds that are scavenging on food scraps (typically seagulls) can get their webbed feet caught in the plastic loops and get crushed by the machines compacting the fill down. Amazed at his forward thinking. Never forgot the tip either.

Humans are similar the world around in my experience, sure the education they received makes them different, but they can change given the right environment to see what is better.

On the other hand, you have not seen me critical of the N/A. Those guys know better then me the environment they live in.
