How is that different from "flat"?
Unless my control F search is broken, neither the words remained, nor record, are in the words of that 10Q statement below. The one that is in it, below, can be taken as processor unit sales were up a little, flat, or even down vs. Q2. In any case, the statement is weaker than saying sales remained at record levels. May be semantics, but they count too.
PC Processors net sales of $467 million decreased 21 percent in the third quarter of 2001 compared to the second quarter of 2001. The decrease in net sales was primarily due to a decline in average selling prices resulting from very aggressive market pricing pressures. Total PC processor unit sales were relatively flat compared to the second quarter of 2001.
