frank, iso, ever heard of these guys?
Live Headline 14-Nov-01 I.D. Systems (IDSY) 6.50 -0.50: A small cap name we recently highlighted in a Trader's Edge reported this morning. Only one sell side analyst, Gilford Securities (Buy), covers the stock so there's not much of a consensus comparison. The numbers were small, so who cares? The interesting aspect of IDSY is the potential for several large contracts over the next 6-9 months as airports beef up security. The company makes a wireless system to prevent the unauthorized use of aircraft ground support equipment and monitors all aspects of vehicle operation. They also sell to the industrial market, the Navy and the Postal Service, but we see the airports as the key. Last month at the Ground Support Equipment Expo in Las Vegas, management met with representatives of major U.S. airlines, the Navy and Air Force, and major industrial vehicle manufacturers. Numerous opportunities have resulted, including potential pilot programs at four major U.S. airports and integration initiatives with leading aviation industry companies in which its wireless technology could be included with comprehensive airport management....The stock seems cheap with a market cap at just $40 mln. We caution that it is a VERY illiquid stock at just a 16,000 average daily volume, but if it gets deals, we expect more small cap funds to be interested and perhaps more sell side coverage will provide more visibility to the investment world. Balance sheet looks good with $6.1 mln in cash/inv with zero debt. Briefing.com continues to look for strong returns in IDSY over the next 6-12 months as deals are announced. -- Robert J.
