I received this e-mail from Stockcharts:

Just a quick note to let you know that StockCharts.com is back online
now. For the next day or so, please use stockcharts.com (no
"www.") to access our site. If you use the www. version, you might see
pages without charts in them. Read on if you want to learn more about
the outage.

=========================

Due to a mistake made by our Internet Service Provider (ISP), our entire
company was disconnected from the Internet Tuesday around 6PM Eastern
time. In addition to the site being off-line, we were unable to send or
receive email. A temporary site was created from scratch (in my
basement!) by 10PM with a message explaining the problem however - due
to the way the Internet works - not everyone was able to see that
message until much later (if at all).

At 1:20PM on Wednesday, our ISP fixed the problem and things are back to
"normal". It may take up to 6 more hours however for the temporary site
to stop appearing on your screen. Re-booting your computer and clearing
your browser's cache _may_ speed up that process.

We apologize for whatever shock, stress, mental anguish, wasted time,
inconvenience, and bewilderment this outage has caused. Believe me it
was a huge shock to us here also. The general feeling right now is
"What _else_ can go wrong?"

Finally, we are now seeing some email messages that speculate on the
health of our company. Like most "dot coms" right now, things are not
wonderful financially for us right now (Sept. 11th's impact hasn't
helped), HOWEVER let me assure you that we are still a l-o-n-g ways from
shutting down the site. AND if we did have to take that drastic step,
we would not simply "pull the plug and run." Given the effort that
we've put into this company, I'm flabbergasted that some people think
that we would do such a thing.

We'll continue to provide the best financial charts on the web as long
as people want to see them.

Take care,
Chip
