Hi CatLady... this sounds logical at first, but makes the Executive Branch alone the judge, jury and executioner, with no recourse, no rules of evidence, and complete secrecy from US citizens.

They say this applies to foreigners only, but in fact the definition of "terrorism" is being expanded dramatically in the US to include citizen actions such as "obstructing" an investigation. All a government official has to do is declare that they don't like something while searching your home, and you can end up in a secret tribunal. A government official can come to your house and shoot you, without review by any other branch of government.

We have no formal declaration of war; the rules of normal prosecution already allow for keeping any necessary military secrets; McVeigh and the WTC bomber terrorists were prosecuted unhampered by the normal process, without this Executive Order. There's no reason for this elimination of oversight. There's something else the government wants to keep us from knowing.
