Good points, I think. Right now, whatever way we can get the intelligence, let's get it, no questions asked.
Was listening to Cheney last night talking about economic stimulus. He's such a smart guy, altho he doesn't seem too well right now. Sometimes I wonder if he's laying low because of his health. And I also wonder how much of the decision making these days is his (I think, a lot). It's an interesting dynamic. I've come to see Bush as someone with good basic instincts, whose geniality is serving him well (I can hardly believe it--you can call NPR tonight and ask Putin questions--what is happening in the world!!!), and w/ hawkish/brilliant Cheney behind and Powell beside, that's a very good team.
Never thought I would say that, LOL. And I don't think we'll abuse civil liberties. Even if we detain people, we don't torture them. I am concerned about the haggling in Congress over airline safety tho. That should already be in place and I feel it should be federally sponsored. |
