Vanni,

I recently sold Avid based on some research I have done. In calling some of the co's distributors, I got a general impression that business Q1 to Q2 may not increase. My research was limited to about 5 distributors so by no means do I have good visibility. I took away several points in my phone calls:

- Sales have not materialized post-NAB like other years given that Avid did no show specials.
- There is some confusion in the customer base re the Intel and Mac platforms. This was corroborated by Media 100 quarterly results.
- Avid reduced distributor margins (I think at the beginning of the year) by 12 basis points. This may have partially accounted for Avid's good showing in Q1 but seems to have upset some/many of the distributors.

I may be wrong and I hesitated selling such a cheap stock (Price/Sales) but had to go with the fundamental signs. Good luck.
