That's not why they are selling Intel only systems. Besides good relationships between the two companies, Dell chooses Intel because like many OEMs in this economy, it's too expensive to support two different platforms. Given the choice between going all Intel or all AMD, they made the obvious choice. Other OEMs like Gateway are realizing that the cost of supporting two platforms puts up too much overhead than can be overcome by the benefit of offering more choices to the consumer. Therefore, Gateway had the choice of dumping AMD or dumping Intel. They, too, made the obvious choice.
