Hammer should be worth the wait. Many here were disappointed with Palomino's delays. Now that they're here as Athlon XP's, were they worth the wait? I think so. Unfortunately, in the mean time, T-Bird ASP's were trashed due to the price war. It's possible that Palomino's delay helped cause the current loss situation, but will also be a major part of the return to profitability. Flash is really the main culprit though. Flash generated a good portion of the 2000 to 2Q01 profits. It will take healthy flash division to right things. Other stocks in the flash industry have had recent stock gains (SSTI and SNDK). AMD's flash business is definitely underappreciated by Wall Street. CB
