Terje -

"Price of SGI machine that I am using ($24000)
Netscape causes the window manager to crash sometimes
if I leave it running all the time. So I have to quit
it every time. "

It sounds like your highly vaunted $24000 SGI multiprocessor machine has about the same stability problems as your Pentium/NT machine.
Gee, think aboutit. $24,000 doesn't buy much these days!

"The windows NT system could be screwed up not because
of NT, but because of the M/B, or the CPU, or the graphics
card, or the drivers, or the ???. Anyways, the thing
has most of it's problems with the network"

Your Windows NT problems, as you described them, appear to be NETWORK related as well the driver for the Tektronix Phaser.

Can you run all your NT applications locally on the Pentium machine without being connected to your Novell network? If so, then clearly something is wrong with your network software/hardware.

I won't even begin to advise you how to solve that problem. Clearly, someone very knowledgeable in those areas is required. Also, you have a Microsoft-Novell interface to deal with. Best of luck.

May I assume you have the latest version of Windows NT and Novell client software for the Pentium?

Have you felt daring enough to try the latest beta version of Windows NT v. 4.0? That may be worthwhile (or exciting, at least).

Paul
