Well, X, I believe Rambi was criticizing me for being dogmatic about when life begins. I have no better idea than anyone else, except that we probably all agree that a life has begun when a baby is born. The thorny question is whether it may begin before that, but as you say, a lot of people may not care about that one way or the other.
I don't doubt that as women, you and others have thought about abortion extensively, and discussed it often. I was referring more to particular issues I was raising, which people responding to me seemed to be avoiding.
This, for example: If it is permissible for an expectant mother to terminate a pregnancy, at say, six months, why should it not be permissible for the mother of a Preemie who is now six months old to terminate that life? In the latter case, the mother would be charged with murder. Why should that be? Both "lives" are at exactly the same stage.
