Wind River posts 3rd-qtr loss versus profit

ALAMEDA, Calif., Nov 15 (Reuters) - Wind River Systems Inc. (WIND), a provider of software and services for embedded systems used in smart devices, on Thursday said it posted a third-quarter net loss, reversing a profit a year ago, citing a tough economic environment.
Wind River reported a net loss of $1 million, or 1 cent a share, excluding non-operating charges, compared with net income of $9.7 million, or 12 cents a share last last year.
Third-quarter revenues declined 30 percent to $80.1 million, from $114.8 million a year ago.
The Alameda, California-based company said it expects a fourth-quarter loss of 2 cents a share, excluding non-operating charges, to break even, with revenues between $80 million and $84 million. |
