I've stashed a bit of money that was earmarked as my personal financial participation in the deal I was trying to sell to VC's, but it's looking for a good use now. Perhaps a good way to deploy it would be to buy a machine, connection, and rackspace, and play around and see what I come up with. A well thought out business plan and time-line placed on paper in advance before any business funds have been dispersed is the first thing that creates a path to any successful business venture. 7 P's to remember; Piss Poor Planning Promotes Piss Poor Performance. Do it with the attitude that your site build is a hobby rather than a start-up business and perhaps you will be successful.
