(OTH)you'd think there'd be a 'tail-just-fell-off' warning light in the cockpit, wouldn't you?

Well...the NTSB seem a bit short on ideas what could have caused this crash. Had to resort to the "turbulence" theme on some earlier cases where airplanes fell from the sky for no apparent reason. That managed to keep things going until somebody actually recorded a control surface going left instead of right....even though several respected people had already suggested it. Why not use it a second time you may reasonably ask.

So tails are falling off. Not so odd that engines would fall off too. Makes sense if you think about it. Having a "Tail has fallen off" warning light would give the pilot forward knowledge what would happen next.

A Brillient idea come to think of it. I hope someone connected with the aeronautical trade will (reading your post) forward your idea ASAP. Maybe you will receive some financial reward for your services to the Air Travel Industry.
