With Northwood, there will be a whole (new) set of benchmarks where the Athlon loses out to the P4. Right now, the only major type is the bandwidth limited one. Once Northwood is out, quite a few of the ones where the Athlon won due to lower latency to main memory - those where the benchmarks (or relevant portion of it) fit in the 512kB L2 cache of Northwood (and not in Athlon's 300kB or so).

I just don't think it's going to look very well&#133 IMHO, AMD really should smack another 256kB cache on Athlon.
