More evidence that New Globalstar will be a "High priced to few customers" service is from page 6 gullfoss2.fcc.gov

<..."If this is the case, the public interest benefits enjoyed by Globalstar's existing subscribers, and that will be enjoyed by the hundreds of thousands of subscribers than Globalstar anticipates serving over the next several years, may end when Globalstar's constellation reaches the end of its useful life...">

So, they are NOT thinking in terms of millions of subscribers. They are thinking of a few hundred thousand.

On page 7, they go on to say <...Thus, MSS providers offer the only mobile voice and data services available to the millions of Americans that are not served by mobile voice or data services or that only have access to mobile networks with inadequate local coverage... >

So, they point out that there are millions of Americans who would like to have the service, but they only intend to serve a few hundred thousand [globally, not just in the USA]. The difference is due to the planned minute charges. They already said that they would start expensive and as they reduce their prices over a period of years, rural Americans will be able to afford the service. Well, how about making it affordable tomorrow morning?

What a waste.
