I don't see how you could conclude that.
J.C., I conclude what I conclude based on years of discussions on the subject of abortion with the parties who have weighed in during this round. I don't claim to remember all the subtleties of each poster's position, but I do have a pretty good sense of where they stand on both the moral and legal issues involved. I'm sure they will correct me if I misrepresent their positions. (I don't recall previous involvement in abortion discussions by Bald Eagle. Sorry.)
It has been a common theme here to assert that termination of a pregnancy is exclusively a parental right.
Of those who got sucked into this latest abortion discussion, only Tim, despite his libertarian bent, would have the government control this decision rather than the parent in collaboration with the medical community. That's the legal/political aspect of the issue.
<<The only thing I am "demanding," as it were, is that the rights of a fetus be given some acknowledgement, especially when they are viable human beings that could survive on their own if they were delivered prematurely.>>
As for the moral aspect, I don't believe any of the posters in question would ever fail to give "some acknowledgement" to a fetus, especially a viable one, in any personal and private choices they may make. I've seen no evidence that anyone would be thoughtless or cavalier in any decision to abort or bring to term. Your careless use of the pro-abortion label is off base, IMO.
