Either the fetus has rights, or it does not. I have argued that it does, at least at the point of viability (without prejudice to arguments dating the matter earlier). Either it is bad policy to allow abortion on demand, because of the flouting of the principle of the sanctity of human life, or it is not. I have argued that it is a legitimate concern, at least. If these are sufficient reasons to forbid or circumscribe abortion, then no one is being made into a brood mare. The matter turns on the reasons for being restrictive......
