These market share numbers are based on EMC's press release
which is based on EMC's SAN and NAS "overlap" or double-counting.
If you believe EMC, all the following is true?

1. EMC said their last quarter NIS (SAN+NAS) revenue was $449M.

2. EMC said their last quarter SAN revenue was $385M.

3. EMC said their last quarter NAS revenue was $148M.

4. If you subtract EMC's individual SAN and NAS revenue from
the combined reported NIS revenue, you get -$84M, meaning,
there's something missing, namely $84M.

5. EMC says there's nothing missing, it's just an "overlap"
meaning there's some SAN revenue in the NAS revenue (like
chocolate in the peanut butter, two, two, two revenue streams
slightly combined).

6. However, we shouldn't take the $84M out of the $148M NAS revenue,
nor should we take the $84M out of the $385M SAN revenue, we should
accept "EMC math" which says $385M + $148M = $449M?

Gus, if EMC won't be honest with some simple math, how can we
believe the market share numbers that are extrapolated from them?
