Re: Mixing glazes. I've done a lot of fibre dyeing in the past... mostly wool and silk before spinning it into yarn or thread. I've worked a lot with plant dyes, but sometimes with chemical ones which have to be mixed from powders. Some of them are actually pretty toxic and can be absorbed through your skin quite easily. These days, I've really gotten away from working with chemicals as much as possible, but I think that with the right set-up and gear, you can work with this stuff with reasonable safety. Big thing is in knowing the risks... something which I don't think many people even thought much about before the 1980s.
