Here is the first of two posts just placed by 'ostenpointone' on the Yahoo HDII thread.

Note in the comments below just how broad the potential patient population is for the CVProfilor.

Comments from Billy S. Arant, Jr., M.D. (U. Of Tennessee Coll. Of Med.)

"Hypertension kills four times as many people as cancer, yet nobody is afraid of their blood pressure until it’s too late. These C1 (large artery) and C2 (small artery) elasticity indices from the CVProfilor get my patients attention. The CVProfilor can identify that something is wrong here and you better look for it, instead of just treating blood pressure, which is only a sign of cardiovascular disease. I think this technology is most beneficial for patients under the age of 60. An improvement in vascular health as reflected by an increase in C2 gives patients a goal to work towards by being compliant with treatment recommendations. People talk about their cholesterol and other things. Why shouldn’t they be talking about their C2’s?

For example, I have a 17-year-old patient who is a picture of health. The young man is an athlete and he exercises regularly. I tested him with the CVProfilor and it showed this his blood pressure was elevated and his C2 was reduced, as compared to other 17 year olds that we have seen. Once they reach 40 years of age and they are hypertensive and they have chest pain or coronary artery narrowing, then it is typically too late for early detection. I think that if we start with this measurement on teenagers who are overweight. Have elevated blood pressure or diabetes, then it could become part of their annual physical."
