Fine. But if recompiling is out of the question, your choices are to either choose another supplier for your PCs, or live with the lower performance. Find out what's more expensive: having to deal with a third or fourth tier OEM, or suffering the loss of productivity. Personally, I think given those two choices, learning how to support newer versions of your code might start looking better and better. The only thing I can guarantee you is that complaining about this on Internet forums is the least effective way of solving your problem.
