IGIT:
The best I can do to answer your questions is to quote from my Teacher, Adi Da, from his book:
REAL GOD IS THE INDIVISIBLE ONENESS OF UNBROKEN LIGHT.
I need to explain that he uses capitals differently, generally capitalizing those words that directly relate to the Divine, and leaving uncapitalized most others. Anyway, here goes:
"The Truth (That Sets The Heart Free) IS Not That the Apparently individual (or separate) self Is itself Immortal and Divine, or That some fraction or dimension of the Apparently individual (or separate) self (or ego-"I") Is itself Immortal and Divine--but the Truth (That Sets The Heart Free) Is That There is ONLY Real God (The Real, The Truth, or That Which Is Always Already The Case).
The Apparently individual (or separate) self is the (Total, Complex) conditional body-mind (or Apparent psycho-physical personality).
The (Total, Complex) Apparently individual (or separate) self is arising in three Primary (and Coincident) forms--the gross (or the physical), the subtle (or the etheric, the mental and the deep psychic), and the causal (or the Root-essence of the conditional self).
The (Total, Complex) Apparently individual (or separate) self is arising As An Apparent Modification (and Contraction) Of The Eternal Self-Radiance (or Inherent Spirit-"Brightness") Of Real God and As An Apparent Contraction Of The Transcendental (or Self-Existing) Consciousness That IS Real God.
The individual (or separate) self (As Well As every other Apparent being and every other Apparent form or process Manifested Within The Cosmic Mandala) arises conditionally--but Nevertheless, Always Already Inhering In Real God. Because Of This, no individual being or Apparent form is Ever Finally destroyed (or ended) In This Drama Of worlds. Every Apparent (or conditional) one and every Apparent (or conditional) thing is a process, a continuum of changes, that Persists Even Through and Beyond dissolution or death--Because separation from The Transcendental (or Eternal), and Inherently Spiritual, and Inherently egoless, and Self-Evidently Divine Conditional That IS Real God Is Not Possible."
Let me know which of this is puzzling to you, or requires clarification. I admit that it is pretty concentrated, dense reading the first few times through.
Namaste!
