I visited Oregon and Washington just last year. Spent a couple of days in Eugene, was driven along the Pacific Coast, a day in Portland, a couple of days in the Columbia River area and a couple of days in, I believe it is called, the high chapparal? Can't remember the town we stayed in but just west of some inactive volcanoes. Did a lot of sight-seeing. The Pacific Ocean is ice cold. You can't swim in it. The people I was with were quite taken with the surroundings, which is when I realized that I was just weird. They were talking about how nice it would be to live there, and I was thinking, no way! My dream would be some place like Key West without tourists.
