hey guy, how are ya these days?

<<You're completely full of crap about ORCL.>>
my customers don't think so and have rewarded me handsomely for being right more than i am wrong.

<<Far from having unlimited scalability, ORCL has negative scale going from one node to two. That's right, the cluster overhead is greater than the gain from adding a second node. Then you start to pick up, but the sweet spot is four nodes, and it starts to roll back down. By the time you hit 8 nodes you're done.>>

according to published data orcl 9i does not scale 100% for every node but 90%. can any other product on the market claim the same? so a 4 node system runs 360% faster than a single node. pretty good for for any box maker and you can run windows, linux, solaris, etc.

<<Why don't you talk about something you know about... you obviously know nothing about databases beyond ORCL press releases.>>

i never claimed to be an expert about anything and anyone who does is fooling themselves. there is always someone out there that know more... maybe you should come to terms with this reality.

<<BTW I worked on the cluster transports for ORCL so I know the strengths and weaknesses of their configuration>>

9i just came out a few months ago so i doubt that you have much extensive data regarding the product. the fact that you claim you have, it would be interesting to this thread to publish any information you have. yes, i will refer to published tests results from orcl. are you saying you have better and more reliable data.

rocky.
