Peach dear,

turn up the ozone....

it will stop mold from forming.....

and....if the plates are removable for cleaning, they are probably fragile. If you have to remove them do it gingerly. Clean with ammonia cleaner....

ALso, crank up the HVAC to draw the moisture.
