I sort of have 2 reactions, besides laughing.

1) Well, they're getting paid, they gotta do something! Invent it if they have to.

2) In an odd way, it's reassuring, these over-reactions. I think it does send a message we're on hyperalert. Although the ditzy citizens running down up escalators or getting up for a pee at the wrong time are probably tongue-tied to say the least

Curious--what you think of the raids of the Pakistani health official etc in PA? I have to say Cobalt Blue's hypothesis is looking slightly more appealing to me (homegrown)--would Al Qaeda terrorists only bother with democrats and news anchors?

As for airbus--guess I'll start doing what I did years ago with those DC-9's (I think it was DC-9's? A few of them crashed). I'll just make sure I'm not flying one of those.
