Carnahan defended a $73 billion Democratic plan that Republicans successfully blocked in a procedural vote in the Democrat-led Senate last week.

``It would provide a real stimulus for our nation's economy, and meaningful assistance to workers and families in need,'' she said.

It's just a giveaway to drug addicts.

``It would extend unemployment benefits to laid-off workers, because our economy simply isn't producing enough jobs,'' Carnahan added.

How do unemployment benefits produce more jobs?

``It would provide health insurance to families who have lost their coverage.

No, it doesn't, but it does firm inflating medical costs.

It would give tax relief to businesses, particularly small businesses that are most likely to make investments in our future.

What tax relief?

And it would give tax rebates to low and middle-income Americans who didn't receive rebates earlier this year.''

It's just another Democrat giveaway to the poor. The poor need fewer handouts and more opportunity. Opportunity comes from business, but Democrats don't want to cut business taxes.

The Republican-controlled House of Representatives has passed a stimulus plan that would inject more than $100 billion into the economy over the next year, mostly through tax cuts.

Carnahan said the House Republican plan ``would be a windfall for the wealthiest among us, but offers nothing to working families.''

If the wealthy see their tax rate cut from 35% to 33% is that a windfall?

Senate Republicans have also proposed a stimulus package based on Bush's outline that it provide tax breaks to stimulate business investment and lift consumer confidence, aid the unemployed through grants to the states and provide cash rebates to workers who did not benefit from income tax rebates earlier this year.

How can Carnahan say that the Republican plan doesn't have anything for working families?

How is it possible to be this stupid and make it to Congress? Sexism.
