My husband tried to save us some moolah by laying the hot tub electric wires 6" into the ground by doing it himself. Turned out it was against the codes, had to be dug 2 1/2 ft into the ground, with a different casing.... That was 2 years ago. It probably will cost us much more to get it undone and done again....and it HAS to be undone sometime or the other... Arrgh....these men !!! <g> I got to go. All the best with the inspection.
