I don't see Bush and his cronies as being particularly more corrupt than other politicians. What has changed in the last 10-12 years is that American culture itself has become corrupted with the idea that we are all entitled to extraordinary wealth and its benefits, no matter the means. This avarice is what will define the contours of the great economic bust, not the examples of petty buergerlich gain set for us by our rulers. The amorality of our rulers is just a symptom of a weak sense of ethics among the voting public. But lest I heap too much scorn on the people, let me point out what a Hobson's Choice the people had last November, anyway. The only viable Presidential candidates were the sanctimonious, power-hungry Gore and the anti-intellectual, power-hungry Bush. The election was "stolen" years before November 2000.

This said, I welcome hearing your political views as well as reading the articles you post.
