I think we have a misunderstanding. Here's the situation:
(1) The mother will die if the pregnancy is allowed to continue.
(2) If the pregnancy is terminated, there is a good chance the mother will survive.
(3) There is a possibility that a viable fetus can be extracted from the mother's body if this is attempted early enough; however, it is unlikely that the mother would survive the operation.

What do you do?
