I got hit bad when I was working at the Kennedy Space Center. I ran a crane for a private contractor. We were building a new shitter plant. You know how storms come through down there.
It started lightening so I brought the crane down and we ran into the building where I thought we'd be safe.

Wrong!!

The building was on stilts because of it's proximity to the ocean. They had the parking lot under it. So we're under there but the concrete floor was wet. The bolt hit outside about 100 feet away and we could see the flash coming at at us across the ground. Before you could blink your eye shut it hit us all. Blew one guy out of his boots. I'll never forget sitting up and seeing my buddies boots just sitting on the ground where he was standing.

We all got a bad case of nausea and some bruises. But that was about it.

Here's a pic of the kind of rig I ran. Click on the HTC-11100
