We visited the Liberty Bell site last year - did not get a guide book but after reading what was on the plaques around the bell, we turned to each other, and asked, "what's the big deal?"

The site stated that the bell was not probably rung for the Declaration of Independence.

I have been reading information available online which isn't consistent with that, so all I can say is that's what we read at the Liberty Bell site.

I wouldn't mind going back to Philadelphia again to check it out.
