certainly an understatement ("Oh yeah, and we get to kill half your guys...")

If al-Qaida has 20-30 thousand trained people in sixty countries, then this pocket of 3-10 thousand (depending on who is counting) followers is a valuable prize. Knock these guys out and it puts a big dent in the membership and sends a serious message or so it seems to me.
