All: looks like the new Intel 0.13 process has some problems: excessive leakage!
p.25 of Datasheet for P-III says, Table 7,
ftp://download.intel.com/design/PentiumIII/datashts/24965702.pdf

For 1.13GHz P-III we have:
Icc Core - 19.4A
Icc deep sleep = 10.2A
Icc StopGrant = 14A!!!
=============================

For older 0.18 process:
Icc Core - 22.6A
deep sleep - 6.6A
Stop Grant - 6.9A
=============================

This means that the new Intel transistors leak half
of the total CPU power into nothing, leakage is 50%.

If you compare this with AMD process,
amd.com
for 1800+ XP we have (p.31):
Icc typical = 33.8 A
Icc stop grant = 0.66A
or the leakage is less than 2%!

Where is Yousef when we need his expertise on
quality transistor architecture? ;-)
