I don't have a DVD either <smile> And till very recently the only VCR I had was PAL...not even NTSC...so I guess I am more pathetic....

But we do have almost half a dozen music thingies littered around....so you could say we're increasingly becoming musically inclined...LOL

We did buy a DVD system for the van this weekend....the "Are we there yet ?" drove me crazy ! LOL.

But yes, you can hear the CDs on regular systems....the advantage is not as much financial as it is about being able to mix and match the kind of songs you want to hear....no more interludes. And about 20 of them fit on one CD as against the regular 10 or 12 which a commercial CD would get you....
