My experience with composites are as a grunt without an education working on them. Here is what I've seen. Once the original composition is changed, it doesn't work. Composite's work because of their integrity and their ability to transfer load and stress throughout the piece. Once you repair that it is gone. That area will be stronger or weaker, it doesn't matter, it isn't the same. Loads will never be shared the same because the whole integrity of the pieces is gone.

Crack the fender of your Corvette in the parking lot of the local S&P. Try to find someone to fix it. You will pay big bucks. Come back to me in 3 years and tell me that area is as strong as the original. It won't be, trust me.
