Mobile P4 in Q1?

xbitlabs.com reports on mobile P4 (prototype) demonstrated at Comdex:

As we learned, the first Pentium 4 processors for the mobile PCs should be launched in February 2002. In this respect, we thought that these CPUs would be showcased at COMDEX Fall/2001, but we were mistaken. They only had a single Mobile Pentium 4 prototype working at 1.6GHz on the mobile i845 based platform supporting PC2100 DDR SDRAM. Thank goodness they had at least a prototype over there...
At the same time, Intel confirmed their desire to launch these CPUs within Q1’02. they are expected to work at 1.4GHz-1.7GHz core clock frequencies, which corresponds to what we have already told you before.

I wonder how these will compare to Thoroughbred based mobile AMD CPUs in performance and power consumption. The combination of P4's .13u and relatively low clock speeds will probably allow Intel to cut the voltage way down, lowering the power consumption, but I am curious if Intel hits th 24 Watts and below.

AMD is at 24 Watts with 1.2 GHz Palomino. Once AMD switches to Thoroughbred core, at least 1.33 GHz should be achievable, and through magic of Quantispeed, the CPU will become 1500+, which should be very competitive with P4. 24 Watts or below should be a piece of cake.
