James, it's not so much that I dislike Octel. I am of the opinion that they have generally old and lackluster products. They do however, have incredible marketing. RE: A recent presse release that hypes basic voice messaging capabilities as "state of the art messaging technology". As well, I have a few friends who work aat Octel (and a few more that used to). The general attitude I hear is that the leadership has no vision. This of course is rumor and speculation. What is fact is that the Intelligent Messaging Architecture (IMA) that was announced in 1995 (for late 1996 release) has all but dissapeared from Octel's press releases. Imagine if we were all still waiting for Microsoft to release Windows 95, and if MS just quit talking about Windows 95. Imagine it MS was still trying to sell Windows 3.11 as "state-of-the-art OS" (Windows 3.11 is almost 2 years younger than Sierra). Why the analysts have continued to be so kind to Octel, I do not know. However, sooner or later, Octel wil be held accountable for the continuous string of late and undelivered promises.
