AFOP

Now this is not OTC but NasdaqNM but it looks like a decent smallcap to me. Unlike many other fiberoptic companies this component maker has real revenues, even in the current slump. Trading around book value. Last couple of financial statement quite ok - management appears frugal, around 5 cents cash loss per share - miniscule.

AFOP is a leader in passive fiberoptics. Technology wise they are rather advanced: CWDM portfolio, DWDM filters down to 50GHZ (JDSU should envy them), Interleavers etc. The telecom slump brought their revenues down from $7m to $4m per quarter. But bellwethers like AVNX are also just doing $8m in revenues at the moment. However the marketcap of AVNX is $600m but AFOP's is just $75m.

I analyzed a couple of FO makers recently. Only 3 among those with actual sales stand out IMHO. Still carrying a decent valuation: AFOP, MRVC (with its LMNE division) and ADLT.
