Tue 20 Nov 2001 News Release
Mr. Doug Alexander reports
As of Nov. 9, 2001, the new TrojanUVMax Pro Series has become the first UV
disinfection system certified to meet the requirements of NSF Standard 55
Class A . The Class A standard verifies the disinfection performance of UV
systems.
In addition to providing customers with unparalleled assurance of
performance, the NSF certification is expected to allow Trojan to increase
distribution into markets where regulations have imposed strict standards
on the required performance of residential UV systems. "We were impressed
with the depth and rigour of the certification process, and are very
pleased to have met all the requirements. We believe this certification
will validate our product leadership and allow us to increase sales in
markets requiring NSF certification" said Doug Alexander, executive
vice-president of Trojan Technologies. "The TrojanUVMax Pro Series retails
at approximately $1,000 (U.S.) and is available through our water treatment
dealer and wholesale distribution channels in the United States and Canada.
We intend to launch a number of promotional efforts, including direct
contact with state/provincial regulators."
"By receiving the first certifications for Class A UV water treatment
systems, Trojan has set a high standard for the rest of the water treatment
industry," said Mark Jost, vice-president of NSF Certification. "We're
proud to issue these certifications and look forward to continuing our work
with Trojan."
The TrojanUVMax is designed as a residential system to disinfect drinking
water at the point of entry to the home. Primarily designed to be used
where water has not previously been disinfected, such as well water or
water drawn from lakes, it is also being used where consumers are wanting
additional piece of mind about their water quality. TrojanUVMax is
effective in disinfecting water contaminated with a wide range of
micro-organisms including bacteria, viruses, Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
