"NEWS" AcSys Biometrics and netRequisite, Inc. To Co-develop and Implement Software
BURLINGTON, ON, Nov 20, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Nexus Group International Inc.'s (NXS:TSE) AcSys Biometrics Corp. and netRequisite, Inc., a San Francisco, CA.- based boutique consultancy firm specializing in internet technologies, have entered into a Letter of Intent to co-develop and implement software for face recognition, internet-enabled transactions primarily for the financial market.
"After a thorough, careful analysis of biometric technology providers and the needs of the marketplace, AcSys Biometrics was clearly the partner of choice based upon their best-of-breed technology and their 'can-do' attitude. We are convinced this alliance will allow us to quickly give our clients the best secure financial transaction solutions available," said Artie Perez, netRequisite's Vice President of Business Development.
The strategic alliance built between AcSys Biometrics and netRequisite will work to, amongst other things, develop a platform-independent version of the AcSys authentication engine and in so doing implement products for their clients, including Bank of America.
AcSys Biometrics is the leading provider of neural technology that mimics the analytical processes of the human mind. AcSys Biometrics owns the exclusive worldwide-patented Holographic/Quantum Neural Technology (HNeT) license for face recognition applications. AcSys' Face Recognition System (FRS) is designed to recognize human faces in multiple applications under challenging environmental conditions. It is the only face recognition technology capable of recognizing up to four individuals at one time. Furthermore, because AcSys' FRS uses HNeT technology, it is uniquely able to learn. With this ability, every time it recognizes an individual it updates its memory, thus accommodating gradual changes in physical appearance over time. AcSys' FRS does not need to keep photographs of individuals in its database in order to remember them so this technology is not invasive of privacy.
"AcSys Biometrics is very excited about its future prospects with netRequisite. This highly complementary relationship launches AcSys into the financial online transaction marketplace with a highly regarded firm and opens up unprecedented opportunities to leverage our combined resources," said Jerry Janik, president and CEO, AcSys Biometrics Corp.
netRequisite's core competency is to build and maintain secure, low- latency, high-volume transaction processing systems in distributed environments. By combining proven project management techniques, creative, results-driven engineering talent, and vast experience building financial transaction processors, P2P (person-to-person) payment systems, auction exchanges, smart card systems, and web banking infrastructures, netRequisite has rapidly implemented reliable, flexible solutions to the most difficult challenges facing its clients.
