DOn't apologize, E! I was offended also. EVen if my name isn't Goldberg or Ali. Being the polite hostess I am, I just watched him slam the door as he exited, and rolled my eyes in amazement. The Mencken quote was wonderful. I thought how very, very nice it would have been had he shown up and said, we heard you had asked for prayers and hope you don't mind if our thread adds ours. WOuldn't that have been impressive? Caring, kind, and so much more winning. INstead I felt was that this person came into my home without invitation, rudely insulted the other guests, spit on my furniture, and acted as if he had done something- helpful. Ah well.
