Urbana subsidiary signs agreement to provide enterprise portal to Boatcan.com
CAMBRIDGE, ON, Nov 20, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Urbana.ca, Inc. (OTC BB:

URBA), announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Urbana Enterprises

Corp. has signed an agreement with Boatcan Computer Boat Sales Ltd to integrate

the content of Urbana's enterprise portal and the Boatcan.com marine website

thus providing various new applications and services in a new and expanded

marine portal.

The implementation of the Urbana Enterprise Portal enables Boatcan.com to expand

many of its services and to achieve previously unattainable objectives for

meeting the needs of its clients. The infrastructure of the portal is scalable

and modular to enable Boatcan.com to further grow and easily reach its user

market and supplier community. The boating user will have access to new tools to

make their activities easier and more enjoyable. The boating suppliers and

marinas will be able to provide their customers with timely and relevant

products and services. Boatcan.com should grow their revenues more rapidly,

through the introduction of new technology and applications while expanding its

services to meet the current needs of the boating community.

For Urbana the addition of Boatcan.com to its growing base of community and

enterprise portals validates the Enterprise Portal offerings. Urbana should by

this December reach in excess of one million hits per month further validating

the Urbana community and enterprise model. Once implemented, as new

applications, products and services are made available, the revenue sharing

formula should ensure the mutual success of Boatcan and Urbana.

David M. Groves, President & CEO said, "This is yet another example of how

companies can capitalize on the unique functionality of the Urbana enterprise

portal solution. The portal will incorporate many unique marine applications and

will be integrated with our community portals thus providing distinctive marine

content to each community."

David McPhail, President of Boatcan Computer Boat Sales Ltd. recently said "This

portal integration and partnership with Urbana will truly enable both Boatcan

and Urbana the opportunity of providing boaters the most unique and complete

service in the Canadian marketplace and possibly worldwide. Although it is a

'win-win' situation for Boatcan and Urbana, professional and individual boaters

will ultimately gain the most."
