for floyd???..sure I have a few ideas<g> I'd probably use all of "WIsh You were here" with the exception of "WELCOME to the MACHINE". That whole LP plays like a dream....... I'd omit much of Dark Side simply because of it's worn out status on radio.. "Breathe" up through "Time" . No way to cut it off since it segues back into Breath. "Us and Them" same problem. Gotta track the whole thing if at all from Animals it would only contain "Dogs" and a couple of the short acoustic numbers... 3 tunes off of Meddle: "One of the Days (Im going to cut you into little pieces)" "Fearless" "Echos" from "Saucer Full of Secrets" I'd toss in "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" The WALL would be a difficult edit. Much of it sucks IMO but there are the gems. One would also face the same problem Gilmour spoke of..the fact that most of their stuff fades into the next tune. Comfortably Numb is a great tune but over played "Blue Sky" "Young Lust" "Mother" "One of My Turns" "Run LIke Hell" On the subject of DAVE...His excellent solo debut "David Gilmour" and "About Face" are excellent disks IMO... as good as most floyd upon reflection I think Wish You Were Here is the best Floyd...towers over Animals and most of the WALL I'd never put any Floyd without Waters on it..without Roger there is no Floyd. Those CDs post-Waters were good, but much more of a Gilmour effort than a true Floyd outting. I like both the Dave solos better than any Floyd post Wall **all of the above are my opinions..please no harsh responses from hardcore Floyd lovers..I am one of you<g>*
