The grocery store, aka supermarket, that I frequent has long had a pigeon problem 'neath its porte cochere, aka covered driveway near its entrances. It's a gabled structure with lots of roosting areas, so one must navigate carefully while entering and exiting the store. But alas, the store, formerly a local Randall's, was purchased by Safeway (boo), who has taken decisive corporate action by installing an electronic black box labelled "Bird Repeller". Thus far, most of the pigeons have relocated to an area of oak trees at the next-door bank, but several die-hards have remained at the grocery store and they (the pigeons) squeal a lot.
