Gopher, Re, Intel definitely said in their last CC that Itanium shipments were starting to contribute to the bottom line, or words to that effect.

They must be shipping production units to make a statement like that. Otherwise it would be a bald-faced lie.


They didn't say what kind of contribution Itanium was making to the bottom line. It is certainly negative as best I can see. I see no hope for it to become positive in the near future.

The difference between a 'Production Unit' and a Sample is the name attached. (I've been involved in software like that ;-].)

I've also been wrong before.
