Good article. Phoney earnings of recent years argue strongly

for "The Rediscovery Of The Dividend". A whole new generation of investors is learning the hard hard way to invest more conservatively. For many decades, before the late 90s bubble distorted investor perceptions, dividends accounted for a large fraction of the total return received from investing in stocks.

Cash in hand from a solid dividend beats the hell out of being screwed out of your capital via one giant pseudo growth scam after another.

Catch the wave, folks<g>.

This ole "gamer"<G> will just keep reposting those table pounding posts of late Sept and early Oct to encourage more good total return ideas (combining a secure well covered dividend with some captial gains potential) from other posters. And not limited to energy or gold any more that this thread has been from day one.

That's one of our great strengths.
