I'm glad you find it amusing. Anything to stand out in a crowd, I guess.

The charge was using their monopoly of their market to disadvantage would-be competitors. One aspect of this was giving away a browser with their Windows monopoly. Other behaviors that were frowned upon included strong-arming OEMs to pay them royalties whether they included Microsoft product on their machines or not - the precise opposite of "giving product away".

And no, I don't find the government's appeasement of Microsoft ironic. I find it spineless, pathetic and irresponsible.

There's an excuse for blindness, but not for stupidity.
