Actually Zeev, come to think of it, Qur'an was compiled as a complete book after the death of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and all the verses of Qur'an were revealed to him... so, the verses that say that some verses have been replaced by better verses and some have been forgotten is meant to mean during the Prophet's time. In all honesty, I don't know if "forgotten" extends to the time frame until the Qur'an was actually compiled as a complete document or not. regards amein
